-Custom wrought iron fireplace screen-
This custom wrought iron fireplace screen has become a focal point of the 1920th house dining room. The blacksmith artist decided to create uniform shapes that accentuate all compositional elements. This silver and gold color scheme contains values from light to dark. Such variety is possible for the natural hues that polish iron has. This natural characteristic intensifies the rich appearance of this custom wrought iron fireplace screen. In addition to the tone usage, the artist implemented other design practices. For instance, the top central part that imitates a flower - is the repetition design technique. There are plenty of aspects deserving attention. Nonetheless, we would like to point out the relativity of sketched design and finished product. Such accordance with the drawing represents the craftsmanship and the detailed approach to work we offer. What you can see on the paper - you will be able to see in real life.
- Wrought Iron Fireplace Accessories -
This project certainly, declares the passion of the homeowner. Incorporating golf equipment in the design and keeping it unintentional was the main artist focus. The decorative central handle on the top of the tool holder is made using a twisting technique. The bar has to heat up. Then one end is gripped in a vice; a special wrench applied to the other end - the bar gets twisted. While twisting, one of the challenges is maintaining the temperature equal to keep a twist even. The project was a call, yet positive compliments meant the efforts rewarded.
-Granite & Iron Antique Table-
This decorative table has become a pleasant surprise for our client. This project proved that a thoughtful design prevents labor-intensive mistakes and simplifies the route to a great product. The best finish for iron is its natural hue which has a uniform antique look. The color ranges from a solid dark gray to a silver-glowing surface depending upon the light projection. Wrought ironwork must get protected against corrosion. The multiple application of a lacquer coating was necessary. This table is a delicate touch of physically intensive craftsmanship and an elegant combination of materials. Our blacksmith created concur dialogue between different materials. The one-in-the-world granite iron table is a declaration of our dedication and passion for blacksmithing.
-Custom forged Nature Theme Clothing Hooks-
As the blacksmithing and metal fabrication company, we are often asked to forge items following some particular design theme. As you already guessed, the idea for these decorative iron clothing hangers is Mother nature. The brackets were designed for the house located in the well-known recreational city - Park City, Utah. The residence rests right on the top of the mountains. So, the designer decided to navigate the overall interior theme close to nature. In this construction project, we had a chance to build multiple custom design iron items, which you will see in the next section below. For a long time, blacksmithing has been associated with functional objects like gates, tools, armors, and weapons; perhaps, named above are the most popular. A review of ironwork history reveals an infinite assortment of items that modern craftsmen can investigate and implement. This assortment is plentiful of brilliant design ideas and a combination of practical and, most importantly, aesthetical techniques. Even simple objects like these wrought iron clothing hooks employ more than one hammering techniques and finishing methods. Wrought iron works are unprecedented for the reason of absolute human involvement in the process. That what makes the art of blacksmithing innovative, extraordinary, and authentic.
-Custom Wrought Iron Door Handles and Latches-
The essence of the blacksmith's activity is an anvil. Anvil is not a passive tool. It plays a very active part in the forging process, providing a tool socket, holes, surfaces, and edges that contribute to the work identically, as does the hammer. To forge these door handles an anvil participated the most. This tool allowed getting these carefully forged handles to look corresponding to the sketch created by our blacksmith artist. The starting phase was to cut the overall plate shape. In most of the forging works, our blacksmith prefers to plasma cut by hand instead of machinery laser cutting. He believes that in this way, he draws the human factor into the workpiece, so it appears richer and more authentic. Using a chemical process we were able to achieve a dark tone and emphasize all textural surface details. Also, the piece was coated with gloss lacquer twice, that's why the sheen resembles intensified. We would like to mention the stamped circles around the oval convex part of the handle. To achieve these jewelry looking circle details, our blacksmith developed special tools to stamp them throughout the handle border. Certainly, these wrought iron door handles and latches have become a welcoming accessory of the main house entrance. It was a delightful experience to work alongside such creative and enthusiastic people. As always, we look forward to sharing our vision, creativity, and dedication to work.
-Custom Wrought Iron Chandeliers-
During the day, we all are blessed to have the light given to us by the sun. If properly used, natural light is highly resourceful for the house. But how about evening time and night time? That is when the lamps, lights, and chandeliers become advantageous. We are happy to introduce these luxurious and sculptural wrought iron light fixtures. The chandeliers you can see were designed and forged by our blacksmith. They both were made for the same residence, so the artist decided to keep them relatively close in style, however, still consolidating simple variety. In terms of proportion, mass, and scale, these wrought iron chandeliers are alike. They both have a solid plate at the top to hide the electricity cables and to secure all the weight. The double repetitive flat bar circles are decorated with a textural iron stripe attached using rivets. They two have flower-like light candles. The trick is that these chandeliers are flipped upside down. This shift catches the attention, as well as keeps them commonly related, though, remarkably unique. The blacksmith decided to use tiny wrought iron metal hooks to connect the circulated flat bars. This technique highlights the fixture's levitation, transparency, and weightlessness, preventing the chandeliers from looking hugely massive. Forging this chandelier was an excellent opportunity to bring warmth and light to clients using our knowledge, craftsmanship, and passion.
-Details in Blacksmithing-
Nothing speaks better for the level of craftsmanship than preciseness to details. Everything that surrounds humans consists of details, the combination of which determines the final appearance of the item. Complexity - multiplied simplicity, that is how we perceive the craftsmanship of blacksmithing. This slogan helps us to return to things twice and give them a fresh look and, as a result, an innovative approach. All these sculptural pieces previously were regular iron bars that have turned into these gorgeous curved elements. These artworks represent the friendship of natural force - fire, and human intelligence and craftsmanship. When properly combined, as a team, they deliver beautiful life-lasting results. Such collaboration accentuates the elegance of this industrial material and gives it a new breath of life. The artistic vision that turns this durable material into tender forms is a powerful presentation tool. The tool that visually speaks to the emotions of the viewer. Most importantly, blacksmithing is art, so through time, many artists came up with many special tools to get some mind-blowing shapes and volumes. There is an infinite number of decorative and inventive shapes that can be made by forging the iron hot and then shaping it around the jig. For example, the fish tale you can see in the fourth picture was heated, split, and rolled. On the other hand, there are plenty of ways to get the material rolled when cold. Banding machines that have interchangeable jigs can be involved to get needed shapes. So definitely there is a number of potentialities to turn this rigid material into elegant sculptural objects, and the benefit is, that it will last and serve you decades. We a grateful to express our imagination using the wrought iron craftsmanship that we have gained through the years of persistence, diligence, and artist approach.
-Custom Wrought Iron Fireplace Screen-
As we learned from school, the line is the connection of two or more points. However, our blacksmith artist has proven that, if used properly, the line exceeds the boundness of rules heading right to the curiosity and, more of the times, even hearts of our clients. There another side to the lines, when correctly connected, they can be visually read as a plane or silhouette. These simple and highly effective rules are the prominent features that our artist uses during the designing phase. Lines may be straight, angular, curved. They can create effects of increased height, width, or, sometimes, even impression of a movement or, opposite, motionlessness. The psychology and theory of lines are essential when creating an atmosphere, theme, or a particular accent detail of object designed. The wrought iron firescreen doors displayed are a notable example of precise and deliberate usage of line techniques. The general shape of the firescreen door is rectangular. Our blacksmith wanted to interconnect and, in some way, introduce new curved forms by framing them with repeatedly riveted flat bars. To accentuate the elegance and exquisiteness of leaf-alike curved elements the iron mesh was implemented as a background. Such a raw and alive mesh pattern brings the flatness of rods forward making them highly-noticeable and visually active. There is an olive tone to the overall color scheme used for this wrought iron firescreen. The way this tone was riched was a chemical process, and afterward, golden patina hues were applied on the top. Remarkably, a raw metal as a material is beneficial for its adjustability to the surroundings. As you can see in the pictures, the firescreen has its warm hues created not only by the gold patina but by the reflection of the warm interior colors surrounding the fireplace. All the methods came through trials and errors, and, fortunately, we never gave up on discovering more new features through not always fruitful but highly resourceful experiments.
-Wrought iron fireplace screen-
In the history of ironwork, fireplaces have been essential to the craft because of their functionality and design quality. The functionality side of the iron fireplace screen is to secure a safe distance to the fire. The design side to it is a luxurious visual enhancement that often enriches the appearance of the room. This particular wrought iron fireplace screen, you can see in the picture, has become a focal point of the overall fireplace surround. It is hard not to notice how well the contrast of soft limestone and dark iron made the look more striking and architectural. Despite the diversity in hues, these two different materials stay visually dependable and communicative. The common cross design patterns they both share was a basis to uniform them. Our blacksmith artist decided to incorporate the limestone top pattern, locating it in the middle of the wrought iron fireplace screen grid. The column-alike sides of the limestone part intensify the massiveness accentuating the fireplace screen importance. We like to share some technical knowledge we used while forging this beautiful piece; this information is about the riveting process. Riveting is a highly time-consuming method; nonetheless, it always adds uniqueness and emphasizes human involvement in the process. In this way, the final product does not look machinery-made but, otherwise, expresses the essence of human creativity and innovativeness. Our blacksmith artist is obsessed with keeping the historical approach to blacksmithing, and, very often, he reduces the amount of welding needed by interchanging it with the riveting connections. In general, riveting involves joining pieces with a rivet placed in holes to tighten steel pieces up. To protect the rivet shape it has to be placed on a special tool to fit the head. The other rivet end is formed either by peening or with a hammer-driven tool. The hole has to be slightly larger than the shank used for riveting. A rivet should be about the hole diameter and a half longer than the thickness of joining steel. The idea is to fill up the hole with the metal by spreading its volume inside the opening when hammered. The hitting force extends the rivet in its dimension and fills up the walls of the hole. This project was an excellent opportunity to bring out the blacksmithing traditions in our up-to-date construction methods. We are happy that our craftsmanship is a reminder of our ancestor's construction methods and forging techniques.
-Custom Wrought Iron Fireplace Tool Set-
"Details matter!" - this wrought iron fireplace toolset is a defined statement to it. As a fundamental theme for the set, our blacksmith artist decided to persist with the marine topic. Wracked by time, healed by the human craftsmanship, this fireplace toolset embodies the old far-traveled ship atmosphere. Our blacksmith artist imagines the toolset made of the most natural and underhand materials that can be found in the sea. They appear to be old wood branches and wore ropes. The toolset consists of tongs, fire poker, brush, and shovel. All of them are hanging above the, presumably, salvaged, rotten piece of ship deck compiled with metal pins, so it does not entirely crack apart. It is understandable that if the set was made of wood only, it would not last but burn. So if we pay close attention to the bottom part of the accessories we can see that it is a separate element tightened with the rope. The artist decided to imply the iron-like detail in the bottom of the tools, so it appears functional and practical. This wrought iron fireplace tools set has been artistically thought out and precisely crafted. We believe that it will become a prominent addition and vibrant focal point to the interior fireplace surround.
-Custom Wrought Iron Gates-
Wrought Iron Gates is a smart approach to enhance the appearance of the driveway. The home entrance communicates with the guest first, even before the owners. Wrought iron gates are always a delicate touch to the overall design of the house. It is an introduction to the property, as well as a devoted guard to secure the territory. Delicate forms and shapes of forged material keep the craftsmanship and human labor factor the most attractive in the art of blacksmithing. Seeing how rigid solid material melts down and turns into something extraordinary delicate is the biggest magic of this craftsmanship. Alive and energetic lines of wrought iron gates are breathing innovativeness and authenticity to the landscape. Wrought iron fences and gates are equal give and take of the garden. They both accentuate the elegant taste of the homeowners and add uniqueness to the architecture. As a blacksmithing company, we pay close attention to the functionality and long-term durability of our products. Most of the wrought iron works we have previously built were solid iron bar materials. Solid as well as thick metals are long-lasting and more resistible to the harshness of weather. When deciding to include the wrought iron gates to your property, you not only enhance the value of it but obtain a life-lasting blacksmithing artwork piece.
